Yorkshire coaches day

We are delighted to welcome Antony Cotterill (Paralympian) as our guest speaker for the day, who will be sharing his experiences and how the power of sport led him to compete on the world wide stage and how he continues to motivate others to benefit from the magic that sport can bring. 

Following Antony's welcome speech, coaches will choose 3 workshops from the below 4 choices.  Each session is 1 hour long and there will be a short break between 12-12.15pm. 

1.      Ideas to create a collaborative and positive working relationship between coaches and parents (Dr Laura Crabtree)

2.      From Parks to Performance - finding, nurturing and supporting players from all backgrounds (Chris Marshall) 

3.      Practical Ideas for Coping with Different Behaviours (Nic Smith) 

4.      Nutrition is key:  How to best fuel a non stop and active lifestyle! (Nicola Tweedy)

Workshop 1  - Dr Laura Crabtree

Helping to create a collaborative working environment, whilst using practical tools to help focus on long term plans, combining process and outcome goals, which will help players and parents / carers understand the demands of tennis and also advice around creating programme cultures, including strong values to promote the understanding of overall well-being

Workshop 2  – Chris Marshall

Making tennis more accessible, through fundraising and creating pathways for children to thrive, no matter what background 

Title:    From Parks to Performance - finding, nurturing and supporting players from all backgrounds 

Workshop 3 – Nic Smith

Understanding the variations of behaviour’s, the why and the how.

Strategies for managing behaviours, including being bespoke to the child/person involved, providing responsibility, asking questions, utilising different roles and time out procedure. 

Develop an understanding of working alongside parents/guardians to develop coping strategies.

Financial Implications for applicants not attending courses
The following cancellation policies apply for Coach Education Qualifications

  • Before 20 working days of the start date - full Refund OR Fee Transfer
  • Between 20 & 11 working days of the start date - £10 Admin Charge deducted from your refund
  • Between 10 working days to the start date - NO refund or transfer
