Activity SessionsActivity SessionsSt Gemmas Yorkshire 3 Peaks Walking ChallengeDescriptionThis challenge organised in partnership with St Gemma’s Hospice Leeds will see you climb the highest peaks of Yorkshire within approximately up to 12 hours: Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. These peaks form part of the Pennine range and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This is a testing but hugely popular challenge, which requires a good level of fitness, and some advanced training in preparation. You will climb each peak in turn and will walk from the foot of one mountain to the next. The walk is approximately 24.5 miles (38.6km) and the ascent is 5200ft (1585m). CGO will provide experienced Mountain Leaders to ensure the safety of the groups, guiding participants to walk the route. The Mountain Leaders take responsibility for the navigation, safety, well-being and motivation of the groups. The event will run from approximately 6.00am to 8pm with start times in small groups of participants. This challenge is suitable for participants aged 18+. You can book as an individual or as a group. Once you have booked and paid, St Gemma’s Hospice will get in touch to say a huge thank you and support you all the way on your Three Peaks journey. The walking challenge will be led by qualified instructors from Carnegie Great Outdoors. You will be required to complete a Medical Consent Form before taking part. Early bird rate until 5pm 31st January 2025
