Activity SessionsActivity SessionsYorkshire 3 Peaks Walking ChallengeDescriptionThis challenge will see you climb the highest peaks of Yorkshire within approximately up to 12 hours: Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. These peaks form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This is a testing but hugely popular challenge, which requires a good level of fitness, and some advanced training in preparation. You will climb each peak in turn and will walk from the foot of one mountain to the next. The walk is approximately 24.5 miles (38.6km) and the ascent is 5200ft (1585m). Perhaps you want to complete the challenge for your own achievement, to join other like-minded walkers and share a bonding experience and make new friends along the way. Perhaps you just want to explore the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and have a memorable adventure. Or perhaps you want to take part to raise vital sponsorship funds for your chosen charity. No matter what the reason, completing the route in under 12 hours is considered a notable achievement
