DescriptionThe Carnegie School of Sport at Leeds Beckett University are pleased to host their second long-term athletic development in schools conference. Developing young people that are fit and healthy, achieve academically, can combine sport and education, and develop a range of life skills is important for their long-term health and success. This year’s conference will explore the topics of holistic development, physical literacy, dual career development, movement competency, child / adolescent development and working with others (e.g., parents) to overcome the challenges associated with optimising the development of young people. To achieve this, the conference will bring together leading researchers, directors of sport, teachers, coaches, and practitioners from a range of schools to present, share and discuss current hot topics and innovative practices for enhancing long-term athletic development within schools. This will be delivered through a range of keynote presentations, discussion forums and practical sessions. We hope you can join us to learn, share and discuss Event times: 09:30-17:00, 14 June 2024
