As part of modules BA501/MA701, which you are expected to complete as part of your course, we are running a three-day residential field trip to The Lake District in NW England. The trip will take you to a range of designed and semi-natural landscapes in this very beautiful part of the world. You will learn, in the field about forest species, woodland management and how to balance the needs of people and nature. We will be looking at how to design for different types of visitors and what the effects of design decisions are. The trip will take place between October 14th (am) and October 16th (pm) 2024 inclusive, leaving and departing from Broadcasting House

The full cost of the trip will be £140-150 (not including food). You are required to pay a deposit of £40.00 to secure your place on the trip.

The remainder will need to be paid by 7th October 2024.  

The hostel where we will stay has self-catering facilities but is also close to Keswick, where there are many cafes and restaurants to suit all budgets. To save money, we advise working together, in small grups of 3-4, to plan and shop for your food. On all days, we advise bringing a picnic lunch with you – 
however, cafes at various places are also available (however these will eat into your time and finances).
