MULTISKILLS - 1st4sport Level 2 Award in Multi-Skills Development in Sport (QCF)

The aim of the qualification is to provide learners with an introduction to the processes and principles of supporting child development through multi-skills. This will include understanding how to support child development through multi-skills via the practical coaching of linked and progressive multi-skills sessions.

Who is it for/Course Pre-requisites   

Hold or be working towards a minimum of a QCF accredited Level 2 sports specific coaching qualification or recognised equivalent, such as: 

  • Level 2 Award in the Principles for Coaching Sport (QCF)  
  • Level 2 Certificate in the Principles and Preparations for Coaching Sport (QCF)  
  • 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Learning in Physical Education and School Sport (QCF) 
  • QCF accredited Gym Instructor qualification  
  • QTS + Physical Education specialism  
  • BSc Degree in Sports Coaching (inclusive of practical delivery) or other equivalent based on individual application.(Not Foundation Degree)

  be able to communicate effectively in English (this includes listening, speaking, reading and writing).

 Course Aims

The aim of the qualification is to provide learners with an introduction to the processes and principles of supporting child development through multi-skills. This will include understanding how to support child development through multi-skills via the practical coaching of linked and progressive multi-skills sessions.

Learners who achieve this qualification will 

  • become qualified to support children’s successful participation in sport
  • learn how to design, deliver and evaluate Multi-skills activity sessions
  • make a positive impact on the children they’re working with by developing their movement confidence and sport-related skills
  • help children master the FUNdamentals of Movement in a fun, imaginative and progressive way
  • make sport more enjoyable for children and young people...and much more!

What can I use it for?

To support you in the specialism of coaching children and young people, this could lead to further employment opportunities. As part of the development of a credible CV for employment in the sport, recreation and allied occupations industry.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of the qualification, learners should be able to: 

· understand key principles of child development through multi-skills 

· understand the principles that apply to fundamental movement skills (FMS) 

· understand the principles that apply to fundamental sports skills (FSS) 

· understand activities that support FMS 

· be able to plan linked and progressive FMS sessions 

· be able to deliver FMS session 

· be able to evaluate a multi-skills coaching session 

· be able to design activities to support FSS 

· be able to deliver an FSS coaching session 

· be able to evaluate an FSS coaching session.

  • Before 20 working days of the start date - full Refund OR Fee Transfer
  • Between 20 & 11 working days of the start date - £10 Admin Charge deducted from your refund
