If you are considering a career in tennis coaching then this is the course for you.

The Level 3 Coach Qualification is for people who want to work full time within the coaching profession.

Please read the following detail before making your booking.

You must meet all the course pre-requisites and
be able to attend all the course dates listed below at the same venue. Under no circumstance can a candidate miss parts of the course or move between venues.

Who is it for?

The Level 3 Coach Qualification is for people who want to work full time within the coaching profession.

Course Pre-requisites

Candidates must:

  • Hold the Level 2 Coaching Assistant certificate.
  • Be LTA Registered or have a DBS (formerly known as CRB Enhanced Disclosure) less than 12 months old.  Please note it may take up to 8 weeks for the DBS to be processed and you must be in receipt of the DBS upon booking.
  • Have (or have had) a rating of 6.1 or a Play Test Grade 1.
  • Have a current HSE approved Emergency First Aid at work certificate.
  • Have an active interest and involvement in tennis.

FIRST AID OFFER

Carnegie Coach Education as part of Leeds Beckett University is a recognised centre for First Aid qualifications and so offers learners the 6 hour HSE Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.  Please use the link below to look at the dates. If you need to update your First Aid then we can offer you the First Aid course (EFAW) at the “Student” rate. But remember this qualification MUST be done before the start of the L3 course to meet the course pre-requisites.

Course Duration

  • 4 modules of 3 days plus 1 assessment day (the structure may vary depending on provider)
  • 9 hours coaching experience between each module

You must be able to attend all the course dates listed above at the same venue. Under no circumstance can a candidate miss parts of the course or move between venues

Please note there are also some pre-course tasks to be completed, these will be explained to you in an email before the course start date.

The main objectives are to train candidates how to:

  • Coach beginners and improvers in groups and individuals.
  • Organise relevant competitions for beginners and improvers.
  • Understand the basics of business management.

On successful completion of the Coach Qualification candidates should be able to:

  • Motivate and inspire people to play tennis.
  • Organise relevant competitions.
  • Understand the competitive structure in the UK.
  • Effectively use the coaching process and its integral parts to improve player performance.
  • Work on their own with beginners and improvers in groups and individuals.
  • Manage the work of Level 1 and 2 Coaching Assistants.

Financial Implications for applicants not attending courses
The following cancellation policies apply for Coach Education Qualifications

  • Before 20 working days of the start date - full Refund OR Fee Transfer
  • Between 20 & 11 working days of the start date - £10 Admin Charge deducted from your refund
  • Between 10 working days to the start date - NO refund or transfer
