Detailed Description

The CMI Level 5 Certificate in Professional Consulting (QCF) have been developed by Chartered Management Institute (CMI) in cooperation with the Institute of Consulting (IC).

This qualification is designed for Professional Consultants and those aspiring to become a Professional Consultant and who want to develop key skills such as planning and managing consultancy interventions, the client relationship, communication and problem solving tools and techniques.  Key is that it provides you with the knowledge of how to communicate effectively with clients and the importance of using diverse communication methods to make a positive impact on the client relationship.  It also enables you to demonstrate that you are aware of the communication challenges facing a consultant across the different strata’s within the client organisation.

The programme exposes delegates to the evaluative tools and approaches a consultant can employ to critically explore and identify the client issue.  It further provides insights in to the validity of the tools and techniques used by a consultant to select and analyse data and information from which to formulate findings and offer alternative courses of action for the client.   Finally, delegates can demonstrate their project management skills and how to develop project plans and management strategies to ensure projects achieve objectives with targets.

 

Qualifications summary

The core units within these qualifications are focused on planning and managing consultancy interventions, the client relationship, problem solving, tools and techniques for consultants.   The Certificate demonstrates that you hold the essentials skills and knowledge relating to consulting and provides a full understanding of the nature of consulting, how to prepare for professional personal development and effective communication with clients.

 

Progression in to the Profession - CHARTERED MANAGER

This qualification enables you to apply to become a Chartered Manager.

This additional qualification is available to final year undergraduate students taking the Business School’s or the Carnegie School of Sport’s Consultancy Project modules.

Only applications from students who successfully pass the Consultancy Project module will be submitted to the CMI.

The fee covers your application to the CMI for this award, and does not include CMI membership.

All applications will be processed at the end of the application cycle which is the 30th July 2017 – applications received after this date will not be considered.

Physical applications should be posted to CMI Administration, The Leadership Centre, 421 Rose Bowl, Leeds Beckett University. Emailed copies of full portfolios will not be accepted.
